ULTRACOMP Limited BATTLEVIEW Known Error/Problem ===================================================================== This information is subject to change without notice and is provided "as is" with no warranty. Ultracomp shall not be liable for damages of any kind arising out of the use of this information. ===================================================================== SUBJECT: Availability alerts displayed incorrectly DATE: 2 May 1995 VERSIONS AFFECTED: 1.0 FIX AVAILABILITY: No fix available PROBLEM REF: VAL029 SYMPTOMS: BattleView incorrectly displays some availability alerts as though they were produced from numeric rather than availability meters. That is to say, the second panel in the alert box can contain the value "0" or "1" instead of the words "Unavailable" or "Available". KNOWN ERROR DESCRIPTION: The problem applies to free-format availability alerts passed using the VME UCV_SIGNAL_EVENT and UNIX ucsig interfaces in which the third character of the alert name prefix is "U" or "A". BattleView fails to recognise the "U" or "A" and interprets the alert as a numeric value. No Ultracomp products are known to use this format of alert. Availability alerts generated by Sceptre-Overlord and Sceptre-UNIX are not affected, and are displayed correctly. Similarly, VVHC and MUAM alerts are not affected. This problem will be corrected in a future release of BattleView. AVOIDANCE NOTES: None. RECOVERY NOTES: Not applicable.
