ITIL Infrastructure Management Certificate for ICT Managers (ICTIM)
Overview
3-day public or single organisation course
This course builds on the general principles, covered as part of the ITIL Service Management Essentials course, providing ICT Managers and Practitioners with a practical understanding of ICT Infrastructure Management.
It also prepares delegates for the examination to attain the ISEB ITIL Infrastructure Management Certificate.
Objectives
The course enables delegates to demonstrate knowledge and application of the processes required to manage an ICT infrastructure aligned to business requirements.
To define the processes, interfaces and dependencies associated with the ICT Infrastructure Management life cycle, including strategic plans, design, deployment, operations and ongoing support and maintenance.
Prepare delegates for the ISEB ITIL Infrastructure Management Examination.
Who should attend?
This course is for anyone involved with the supply and support of business-focused ICT services and who require a detailed insight into the ICT Infrastructure life cycle, from business strategy through to live operation and ongoing support and maintenance.
Delegates will ideally have attained the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management. For those who don't hold this certificate, contact the Fox IT training administration team for further advice (contact us link at bottom of page).
Professional Qualifications
The ISEB ITIL Infrastructure Management Certificate is attained by passing a 3-hour open book examination based on a case study (40%) and three optional questions (60%). Delegates will be allowed an additional 30 minutes to read the case study. Examinations will be scheduled quarterly by the ISEB.
The Certificate complements the ISEB Practitioners and Managers Certificates.
Structure
The syllabus is based upon the OGC book, Best Practice for ICT Infrastructure Management.
The course delivery is assignment based, with a strong emphasis on practical coursework.

Topics covered include:
- ICT Infrastructure Management – introduction, overview, benefits and interfaces with other ITIL Service Management processes
- Requirement analysis and business cases for ICT Infrastructure Management
- Design & planning processes
- Organisation – roles, responsibilities and interfaces
- Deployment process – translating and implementing strategies, design and plans into business aligned ICT solutions
- Operations process – ensuring a high availability, stable and secure ICT environment
- Technical support process – skills, knowledge and resource levels associated with design, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance
- Supplier management – procurement, interfaces and Operational Level Agreements
Documentation
In addition to course notes, each delegate will receive a copy of the OGC book, Best Practice for ICT Infrastructure Management.
