Note:

From June 13th 2007 onwards the standard ITIL Foundation exam will be based on the latest version of ITIL (published May 30th 2007). The syllabus for this examination reflects the move to a Service Lifecycle approach and covers this, as well as some of the key processes in detail, and the remainder of the processes in outline.

For the remainder of 2007 at least, the Examination Institutes and Fox IT will be offering the older version of ITIL examinations (Service Management Foundation - based on the processes described in the Service Delivery and Service Support books) for those who would prefer to do this.

If your organisation is in the middle of a program of training then you may wish to give all staff a common understanding, so the older version may be more suitable.
